| Iranian filmmaker Kiarostami to Tokyo confab |

LONDON, January 16 (IranMania) - The
renowned Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami is slated to attend the
international forum on natural disasters and culture in Tokyo, PressTV
reported.
Kiarostami will join artists and
writers from all over the world including the Noble Prize winner Columbian
novelist, Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The Iranian director's Life and
Nothing More will also be discussed during the four-day event sponsored by
Japan's P.E.N Club.
The conference aims to 'promote the
ideal that art and literature know no frontiers and should remain a common
currency in times of political or international conflicts'.
The world's first international
forum on natural disasters and culture will run from Feb. 22nd to 25th, 2008. The internationally acclaimed Abbas Kiarostami is considered one of the masters of contemporary cinema.
