LONDON, January 16 (IranMania) -
Iran's 26th International Fajr Film Festival has scheduled to screen
'Mansfeld', a biopic about Peter Mansfeld, a Hungarian national hero, PressTV
reported.
The movie, which is about a freedom
fighter in the 1956 rise of the Hungarian people against Soviet oppression,
tells the story of his daring struggle to attain freedom.
Peter Mansfeld and his family are
victims of state terror and the conditions turn him into a freedom fighter to
participate in the 1956 rebellion against Soviet oppression.
Scene from 'Mansfeld'
At the age of 17 he is betrayed and
arrested by the dreaded Secret Police (AVH) and has to spend the rest of his
life in a political prison, called Hell's Hallway, to reach the legal age of 18
before his death penalty can be carried out.
The 118-minute drama, directed by
Andor Szilagyi, admirably depicts the unjust execution of the national hero of
Hungary. The 26th International Fajr Film Festival is slated to be held on February 1 to 11, 2008.
