| Bani-Etemad donates film awards to charity |

LONDON, January 13(IranMania) -
Iranian director Rakhshan Bani-Etemad donated a collection of her awards,
screenplays, books and film accessories to the Film Museum of Iran, MNA
reported.
Bani-Etemad attached a note to the
collection of awards, reading, ?I had once decided to put all my awards on sale
in an international auction to establish a foundation to help women who run
their families alone. I still have this desire, and I ask the Film Museum to
help my wish come true as soon as possible.?
The donation included awards she had
gained for nine feature films produced during the years 1986 until 2007.
Her debut feature ?Off-Limits? won
an award in Italy and her latest movie ?Mainline? won Best Achievement in
Directing award at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.
Her other movies including
?Nargess?, ?Blue Veil?, ?Under the Skin of the City?, ?Gilaneh? and ?Foreign
Currency? were awarded at the Locarno, Torino, Rome and Montreal festivals. Bani-Etemad has directed nine features and several documentaries during her cinematic career. Source : www.iranmania.com |
