LONDON, January 14 (IranMania) - The
Experimental and Documentary Film Center has recently completed shooting the
documentary film ?Deadlock?, a production highlighting musician Babak Bayat,
MNA reported.
Directed by Mostafa Shiri, the
documentary is currently being edited by Bahman Kiarostami for screening in the
26th Fajr International Film Festival, which will be held in Tehran from February
1 to 11.
Bayat?s family, friends and
colleagues have been interviewed in the 80-minute film.
Shiri has also interviewed the
celebrated filmmakers Bahram Beizaii, Masud Kimiaii, Ahmadreza Ahmadi, Sirus
Alvand and Behruz Afkhami for inclusion in the documentary as it was Bayat who
had composed music for their productions.
Known mostly for the many
soundtracks he composed for Iranian films and TV series, Bayat died at 60 from
liver failure in November 2006.
During the course of his career as a
soundtrack composer, which began with Ali Hatami?s ?Bald Hassan? in 1970, he
composed music for over 90 Iranian films.
The soundtrack he made for Behruz
Afkhami?s ?The Bride? brought him the Best Music Crystal Simorgh at the Fajr
International Film Festival in 1990. Bayat?s lifelong friendship with Iranian contemporary poet, songwriter and playwright Iraj Jannati-Ataii inspired him to compose many songs such as ?Underwater Shout? and ?Ali-Konkuri? Source : www.iranmania.com |
